15 & 30 Hour Funding
Understanding government funding can be difficult and confusing. We are here to help in person if needed.
Here is some important information for you that might help:
How do I get funding for childcare?
A useful link below.
Am I eligible for 30 hours funded care?
If you work more than 16 hours per week but earn less than £100,000 you should be eligible. All applications should be made online at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk An 11 digit code is then produced which you should give to nursery. You will then be asked to sign termly declarations that you are still eligible.
Will funding cover all my nursery costs?
Funding may be used for breakfast club, main nursery sessions and after school club. It cannot be used to fund the lunch cost of £2.25 or holiday club. The £4 care charge for lunch can be included in your funded hours. you may purchase additional hours so your child can attend more sessions that just your entitlement.
Do I only need to apply once?
You only need to apply for 30 hours once, however you will have to update your details every three months. HMRC will send you emails reminding you when that date is coming up. It is vital you update or you could lose your eligibility for funding.
When can I access funding for my three year old?
All children can begin to receive their free education hours from the term after their third birthday:
